Legal Notice – Business Model, Vehicle Ownership & Regulatory Information

Last Updated: 01 July 2026

1. Introduction

This Legal Notice explains the role of MB Motor Group in relation to vehicles advertised on this website and is intended to assist customers, regulatory authorities, finance providers, enforcement agencies and other third parties in understanding the nature of our business.

MB Motor Group is an online vehicle advertising, marketing and customer introduction platform. Our primary role is to provide a marketplace through which independent motor dealers and vehicle owners may advertise vehicles available for sale.

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, MB Motor Group does not purchase, own, register or supply the vehicles advertised on this website.

Nothing within this Legal Notice is intended to exclude, restrict or override any statutory rights or legal obligations which may arise under applicable law.

2. Our Role

MB Motor Group provides an advertising platform similar in principle to other online vehicle marketplaces.

Our services may include:

Advertising vehicles on our website and marketing channels.
Introducing prospective purchasers to independent motor dealers.
Displaying vehicle information supplied by the relevant dealer or owner.
Providing general customer support relating to advertisements.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in the relevant documentation, MB Motor Group is not the contracting seller of vehicles advertised on this website.

3. Independent Supplying Dealers

Every vehicle advertised on this website identifies the business, dealer or person responsible for supplying that vehicle.

The supplying dealer is generally responsible for matters including:

ownership of the vehicle;
legal title;
registration and keeper information;
compliance with consumer legislation;
preparation of sales documentation;
warranties offered;
after-sales obligations;
repairs;
refunds where applicable;
handling customer complaints relating to the sale.

The identity of the contracting seller should always be confirmed by reviewing the sales invoice, purchase agreement and any associated contractual documentation.

4. Vehicle Ownership

Advertising a vehicle on this website does not, by itself, make MB Motor Group:

the legal owner;
the registered keeper;
the seller;
the supplier;
the operator of the vehicle; or
a party to the contract of sale.

Ownership remains with the party holding legal title until ownership is lawfully transferred.

5. Vehicle Information

Vehicle descriptions, photographs, specifications, mileage, service history and other information displayed on this website may be supplied by the relevant dealer, owner or third-party data providers.

Whilst reasonable care is taken when publishing advertisements, MB Motor Group cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of information supplied by third parties.

Prospective purchasers should independently verify any information that is material to their purchasing decision.

6. Customer Purchases

Customers should carefully review all documentation before purchasing a vehicle.

The legal seller will normally be identified within:

the sales invoice;
purchase agreement;
finance documentation;
warranty documentation; or
other contractual documents.

Where MB Motor Group is not identified as the contracting seller, contractual obligations relating to the sale will ordinarily rest with the identified supplying dealer.

7. Warranty, Repairs & Consumer Rights

Questions relating to:

vehicle faults;
repairs;
warranty claims;
rejection of vehicles;
refund requests;
Consumer Rights Act 2015 claims; and
after-sales support

should ordinarily be directed to the contracting seller identified within the relevant sales documentation.

Nothing contained within this Legal Notice affects any statutory rights available to consumers under applicable legislation.

8. Finance Companies & Lenders

Where a vehicle purchase is funded through finance, the contractual documentation will identify the supplying dealer involved in the transaction.

Finance providers, lenders and brokers should refer to those contractual documents when determining the identity of the contracting dealer.

If MB Motor Group is not the contracting seller, correspondence relating to dealer obligations should ordinarily be directed to the identified supplying dealer.

9. DVLA & Vehicle Registration

MB Motor Group does not ordinarily apply to become the registered keeper of vehicles advertised on behalf of independent dealers.

Occasionally, correspondence intended for vehicle owners or supplying dealers may be sent to MB Motor Group in error.

Examples include:

Notices of Intended Prosecution;
Speeding Notices;
Parking Charge Notices;
Bus Lane Penalty Charges;
Toll Charge Notices;
Congestion Charge Notices;
Registered Keeper enquiries;
Vehicle ownership enquiries.

Where MB Motor Group is not the legal owner, registered keeper or contracting seller, we will endeavour to assist the issuing authority by identifying the appropriate supplying dealer where possible.

Authorities are encouraged to verify vehicle ownership and registered keeper information using the relevant official records before pursuing enforcement action.

10. Legal Proceedings

Where legal proceedings concern a vehicle advertised on this platform, parties should carefully establish:

the identity of the contracting seller;
the registered keeper where relevant;
the legal owner;
the entity that entered into any consumer contract; and
the party responsible under the applicable contractual documentation.

The publication of an advertisement alone should not be treated as evidence that MB Motor Group owned, supplied or sold the vehicle.

Each matter will depend upon its own facts and documentation.

11. Regulatory Authorities

This notice is published to assist:

DVLA
Police Forces
Safety Camera Partnerships
Local Authorities
Civil Enforcement Authorities
Parking Operators
Finance Companies

Consumer representatives

Its purpose is to clarify the nature of MB Motor Group's business and reduce the risk of correspondence being incorrectly directed to our company.

12. No General Assumption of Liability

The existence of a vehicle advertisement on this website should not, by itself, be interpreted as evidence that MB Motor Group:

owned the vehicle;
supplied the vehicle;
entered into a contract of sale;
accepted legal responsibility for the vehicle; or
assumed obligations owed by the supplying dealer.

Whether MB Motor Group has any legal responsibility in relation to a particular transaction will depend upon the specific facts, contractual documentation and applicable law.

13. Contact for Regulatory Enquiries

If you are contacting us regarding:

vehicle ownership;
enforcement notices;
parking matters;
speeding matters;
